Christmas Expenses: it's Time to Get Ready!

Christmas is coming soon and to avoid unpleasant surprises for the New Year, it is important to plan your spending this holiday season.

How to do it?

First of all, since this is probably not your first Christmas, consider using your habits from the previous year to plan your future needs. Review your expenses by consulting your banking and credit statements to identify the cost of gifts, decorations, food and travel.

After that, check how much money you have to determine how much you still have to save to be able to pay everything, then divide that amount by the remaining days by December 24.

If you wish, you can also transfer this amount to a savings account or an envelope to avoid using your famous credit card.

Make a plan

If you don't have enough time to accumulate or if your expenses are likely to be higher than expected, establish a purchase plan and list the people to whom you want to give a gift. Consider exchanging gifts at work or with your children if necessary.

You might also consider offering "homemade" gifts and identifying people to whom you could simply send a Christmas card.

Find strategies to save money

Make a list and make sure you compare prices, sales, newsletters and promotions. Buy gifts online to avoid travel costs or pay in cash to better meet your budget.

In the meantime, if your expenses have exceeded your expectations, make sure you are more careful for next year and repeat the same exercise. Also know that if you have debt consolidation problems, our team is here to help you. Happy Holiday Season!
